Austin is liberal. One of the most liberal cities in the US.

I'm sure there are great things about conservatism and the republican party, but I cannot support science deniers. Climate change is an existential threat.

And, according to the Texas Tribune, we native Texans were the one's who supported Beto. It was the people from other states that have moved here that supported Cruz.

I was joking, Loki. I know that not all Texans like to carry their guns to Walmart or vote Republican.

SpacemanBiff, yeah, Wyden is quite old already. In 2020 he’ll be older still. Americans should stop choosing geriatrics to lead the country. A man in his 70s should be enjoying his retirement not running the world’s superpower.

          Friends,

I have not even heard of this wyden guy... and I am 55 and have lived in the USA all my life.

So now I have to google him.. it shows that you have to recogonize the NAME.. in trumps case. and have money, or your are not going anywhere.

Back to 2018. I had a broken bone spur in my foot ( like trump, draft dodger)...and thats just about healed.. so that was my major accomplishment in 2018.

My daughters car broke.. so that forced me to give her MY car, and me to buy a new one. Family economics. so now I am much poorer.

          Thank you for sharing.

          dr. Darrell of Michigan.

That’s part of the problem now: you have to be known and be charismatic. Wyden is neither. The only person who stands out from the crowd now is Oprah... but she’s not interested. Hopefully Trump will be a one-term President.

I see Bloomberg will most likely run as a Democrat. At least he has the recognition. And I think name recognition this early is overrated. Did you know who Sanders was before he ran? How about Bill Clinton? Obama?

Yes, I knew all of them because I follow American affairs. I especially liked Sanders but he kicked himself in the teeth by identifying as a socialist. (He really isn't.) I did think Bernie was too old but so were Hillary and The Donald. I'd prefer to see someone in their 40s or early 50s as President.

Bloomberg is too old. In 2020 he'll be 78 or 79, maybe 80. He should go straight to a retirement community in Florida. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York has charisma, is in her early 50s, is attractive & successful but she's unknown. Oprah would be a shoe-in; she's in her mid-sixties and a bit off the wall...
