  • Greetings from Funland!

Aye. Seems that forum is finally working so let's try to use it then.

Ever wanted to know anything about Finland? Ever wanted to know are we such distant and cold? What about language - did you know that we have DOZENS of forms for words? Have a look at this: http://languagecatalyst.com/wp-conte...nish-comic.png

I predict your facial expression after that picture. It's like this: http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/..._I_reading.png

    Still interested?

If yes, try me. Male, 23, southwest Finland, studying Master's in uni, been here and there. Too plain description? Well, I'll tell you a secret. There is reading something very interesting in my profile section "hobbies and interests". Drop me a message or obey the rules (red text).

P.S. It's not typo in the topic headline, it's a country full of fun. Either it can be called Fineland. It's at least as fine as the best ripened white mould cheese.

You've got that wrong: we've got thousands of forms for words. Apparently we have a few thousand forms for nouns, and around 12000 forms for verbs. For a long time it was mystery how such a language could have developed, but finally linguists figured it out.

      (We're also avid grammar-Nazis.)

...How much do we supposedly use it? We've more common words -- we've even got a suitable verb mood.

Is this the reason why you call it "Fineland"?

Objection. Finland is always ahead to Sweden, especially if it's measured by GMT. +1 hour, fella.

Kronkorken, we don't have criminality here. We even buy tickets every single day to get to the work like in amusement park. Believe or not, says Ripley.

That is an awesome post Especially pictures. I like Finland very much! I've been there twice and I've visited Helsinki, Seinajoki and Tampere. Long story short, in Tampere I needed the whole day to learn word "Pahkinansarkija"
